WELCOME TO THE BASE
Located in the heart of Torquay, The Base is a versatile space designed for hosting a wide range of events. Whether you’re looking for dance classes, music performances, band rehearsal space, a fun night out or a venue for your kid’s parties, wedding reception or community gatherings, The Base provides a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
This unique building, originally constructed in the 1800s as a church, is rich in history and character, offering an inviting and spacious environment. In May 2024, we transformed the property into a vibrant, creative hub through a complete refurbishment.
As you step inside The Base, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy waiting and chill-out area, perfect for relaxing, chatting with friends, and enjoying a coffee.
Our main venue is a vast space (14 meters x 10 meters) with LED-lit walls, creating the ideal atmosphere for any event. It features a stage, cutting-edge sound and lighting systems, and a TV wall. The Base also boasts a recording studio and a photoshoot/media studio, making it a complete creative space.
The Base is buzzing with energy and is also the home of Bass Beatz Productions and Beatz Academy

- Central Church Car Park (limited spaces)
- Roadside parking on Morgan Avenue (free for 1 hour & after 6pm) – behind the church
- Roadside parking on Tor Hill Road (free for 1 hour & after 6pm) – in front of the church
- Lower Union Multi-Storey Car Park (TQ2 5PN) – 4-minute walk from the venue

"THE BASE TORQUAY".. Walking up Tor Hill Road I noticed the brightly lit signage, "THE BASE", late evening.. Intending to get some promotional flyers I eventually met with the person in charge that late evening.. Details of venue hire for personalised events can be found on Facebook Pages.. The venue for that evening was just finishing, lots of brightly coloured lights lit the interior dance floor.. "THE BASE TORQUAY"..

Beatz Academy is fantastic! Keshia is amazing with all of the children as well as a fantastic dance teacher. She provides the children with so many opportunities and pushes them to their full potential whilst nurturing their individual needs. Professional yet personal approach to dancing. This dance school has become a huge part of our daily lives with my daughter dancing and singing 4 days a week and more for Krew performances. A welcoming and friendly environment. Highly recommended.

my son had his 2nd birthday here, highly recommend. large room and a separate room for adults. great they do party packages which takes the stress off which included a bouncy castle and ball pit (we had a choice to choose from) and some wiggle cars. will definitely be booking again here for future party's thank you!❤️
Visited today for the Christmas jingle and bell's santa experience - kids absolutely loved it, full of fun energy and no expense spared. Really and truly worth every penny. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to feel chritmas-sey!
Would give 10 stars if I could. The Jingle and Belle's Jive Santa's Grotto experience was absolutely fantastic and beyond all expectations. The story, the activities, the décor, the energy and specially the staff were incredible, making both the children and adults feel like the most important part of the show. I recommend them to all and will definitely book it again next year.
