WELCOME TO THE BASE
Located in the heart of Torquay, The Base is a versatile space designed for hosting a wide range of events. Whether you’re looking for dance classes, music performances, band rehearsal space, a fun night out or a venue for your kid’s parties, wedding reception or community gatherings, The Base provides a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
This unique building, originally constructed in the 1800s as a church, is rich in history and character, offering an inviting and spacious environment. In May 2024, we transformed the property into a vibrant, creative hub through a complete refurbishment.
As you step inside The Base, you’ll be welcomed by a cozy waiting and chill-out area, perfect for relaxing, chatting with friends, and enjoying a coffee.
Our main venue is a vast space (14 meters x 10 meters) with LED-lit walls, creating the ideal atmosphere for any event. It features a stage, cutting-edge sound and lighting systems, and a TV wall. The Base also boasts a recording studio and a photoshoot/media studio, making it a complete creative space.
The Base is buzzing with energy and is also the home of Bass Beatz Productions and Beatz Academy

- Roadside parking on Morgan Avenue (free for 1 hour & after 6pm) – behind the church

- Lower Union Multi-Storey Car Park (TQ2 5PN) – 4-minute walk from the venue

We hired out this venue for my Daughter and son’s birthdays and I would definitely recommend to anyone! A huge hall with a disco ball and lights. Keshia was amazing! She is bubbly and friendly and kept the children entertained the whole time. Everyone was very nice and polite. We will be back when we have another party.
It was a great event. My daughter really enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to more events in 2026 at the Base.
